The game offers a few different legacy skins for its playable characters, though each is exclusive to one of the various editions and pre-order incentives. Sonic’s pre-order skin is based on his Sega Dreamcast-era appearance from Sonic Adventure, while Classic Sonic gets a costume based on his appearance in Sonic Jam if a player signs up for Sega’s newsletter. Shadow also has a legacy skin, but unlike Modern and Classic Sonic, his is based on Terios, one of the earliest concept designs of Shadow during Sonic Adventure 2’s development. The gameplay clip showing Shadow’s Terios skin was recently shared on the official Sonic the Hedgehog Twitter account, with the post itself noting how little time fans have to pre-order Sonic X Shadow Generations and mentioning that the skin is an incentive. The clip shows how Terios looks on one of the Stage Clear screens of the game, specifically on Sonic X Shadow Generations’ Kingdom Valley stage. This victory pose has Terios flying across the screen, followed by him adjusting his wrist ring with a glare. Players Who Pre-Order the Digital Deluxe Edition of Sonic X Shadow Generations Get a Terios Skin for Shadow Terios’ design makes him look like a much closer dark reflection of Sonic, having the same quill-hair shape, facial features, and overall look as the blue hero. The major differences between Terios and Sonic are the dark fur, shoes, and gloves, along with a scar stretching across his left eye and a red scarf around his neck. While Terios would eventually evolve into Shadow the Hedgehog, the unused Terios design is still beloved by fans. The Terios skin will also have custom animations that will distinguish him from Shadow. Close Fans can also snag the Movie Pack DLC based on the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 film, which is also exclusive to the Digital Deluxe Edition of Sonic X Shadow Generations. It includes a re-designed Shadow to make the character look closer to his cinematic counterpart, with Keanu Reeves reprising his voice role from the film, plus a level based on Tokyo. While Sonic X Shadow Generations will launch on October 25, the Movie Pack will be released a week ahead of Sonic the Hedgehog 3’s December 20 premiere.
