Overwatch 2 recently updated spawn rooms in both Oasis and New Queen Street with graffiti, vandalism, and purple crystals that tease the new hero coming to the game in Season 14. These cosmetic changes were slipped into Overwatch 2 as a part of its Season 13 update, and are live in-game right now.During the trailer for Season 13, Overwatch 2 teased the 42nd hero coming in Season 14 with a short stinger near the end of the video. The segment depicted the spawn room of Oasis vandalized, presumably by a group called the Phreaks, during which the new hero can be heard saying “It’s lookin’ like a revolution,” in a thick Scottish accent. However, it seems like this vandalization is not only found in the Overwatch 2 Season 13 trailer. As fans queued up for their matches, they noticed the in-game Oasis spawn featured the same level of destruction in it. The ferrofluid sphere in the center of the room has been destroyed, and the office has been ransacked, with animated, neon graffiti and purple crystals scattered all over the room. Overwatch 2 Hero 42 Teasers in Season 13 It also appears as if Oasis isn’t the only place where the Phreaks have been. The nightclub found in the forward spawn of New Queen Street now also features the animated tags and curious crystals, though it doesn’t appear to have been destroyed like the Oasis research facility was. The destruction of the ferrofluid sphere, and the presence of these purple crystals, could be clues as to what the Phreaks and their mysterious leader might be after. Considering the Oasis map in Overwatch 2 is Moira’s base of operations, he may be targeting her technologies, implying there could be a connection between them. Oasis, located in Iraq, and New Queen Street in Canada are quite far from each other, so it is clear the Phreaks have influence across the world. Close Luckily, fans won’t have to wait long to learn the specifics. According to the in-game interface, Overwatch 2 Season 14 starts December 10, and considering Venture and Juno were both formally revealed about a month before they came to the game, players could learn more about hero 42 and the Phreaks as early as the first few weeks of November. Either way, between Mauga teasers in Samoa ahead of his release, Juno’s crashed spaceship heralding her arrival in Overwatch 2, and the Phreaks’ tags in Oasis and New Queen Street, it seems Blizzard has started a trend of teasing new heroes with in-game Easter eggs.
