Call of Duty is revamping its user interface, which should go a long way in addressing fan complaints. For the past couple of years, Call of Duty games have been housed under a single app called Call of Duty HQ. While some find the app to be a convenient way of switching between different Call of Duty games, others have heavily criticized it as being cumbersome and frustrating to use.Unfortunately for anyone hoping for Call of Duty HQ to go away, Activision is sticking with it for the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. But while Call of Duty fans are stuck with Call of Duty HQ, the good news is that the UI is getting a major revamp. And better yet, fans don’t have to wait for the Black Ops 6 release date on October 25 to see the UI’s first changes. Related Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Confirms Return of Fan Favorite Feature With the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 just days away, developer Treyarch Studios confirms the return of a multiplayer fan-favorite feature. Activision has explained that the new Call of Duty UI will “evolve over three initial phases.” Phase 1 starts on October 21. This phase will see the new UI go live, with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and the Call of Duty: Warzone battle royale game given primary status. Then, on October 25, Call of duty: Black Ops 6 will take Modern Warfare 3’s spot, making it easier for fans to jump into the new game. Clicking on Black Ops 6 will send players to the game’s specific UI, in turn allowing them to access the Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies modes. And finally, Phase 3 will coincide with the launch of Season 1, with the Battle Pass integrated in the UI and Warzone given a new interface similar to that of Black Ops 6. Call of Duty's New UI Close What’s been shown of the UI looks fine enough, and it will also make it easier for players to manage which CoD games they have installed. Call of Duty games continue to have massive file sizes, so hopefully the UI ensures that players aren’t downloading CoD games that they don’t need.It will be interesting to see how fans react to the new Call of Duty UI, especially since the first version of it is going live before Black Ops 6 is even out. It’s entirely possible changes will be made based on fan feedback, but that remains to be seen. Regardless, fans can count on plenty of future updates for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 itself, with Nuketown coming on November 1 and even more content launching with the eventual Season 1 update.
