Hades 2 developer Supergiant Games has shadow-dropped the roguelite’s first major content update. The Olympic Update brings a colossal list of additions for Hades 2 players to enjoy, such as a new region, items, characters, and changes to existing content.Supergiant Games released Hades 2 in early access back in May 2024, and the Greek mythology-inspired roguelite has resonated exceptionally well with players so far. In less than 24 hours after its release, Hades 2 more than doubled the player numbers of its predecessor, 2020’s Hades. Spectacular popularity aside, Hades 2 is still a work-in-progress title, and Supergiant has been listening to community feedback and updating the game accordingly. The latest Olympic Update for Hades 2 is the most comprehensive content drop for the game so far. The headline addition in this update, as hinted in its name, is the region of Olympus. As far as weapons go, there’s a pair of new jetpack gauntlets dubbed Xinth, the Black Coat, which are also the last of Melinoe’s Nocturnal Arms. Hades 2 players can now also bump into Athena and Dionysus, both of whom are returning from the original Hades. New characters include the Titan Prometheus, who will star in Hades 2’s Olympic Update as an area boss. Gameplay-wise, the update doesn’t disappoint either with its overwhelming list of changes to existing weapons, boons, abilities, and more. The Dash will supposedly be “innately faster and more responsive,” and weapons like the Witch’s Staff, Moonstone Axe, and Umbral Flames have all been tweaked extensively.
