Final Fantasy 14 will hold the 84th episode of Letter From the Producer Live to kick off November, covering more details about Patch 7.1, titled Crossroads. Hosted by Final Fantasy 14 producer and director Naoki Yoshida, the upcoming Live Letter broadcast may give players a clue as to when Patch 7.1 will go live.The news of the next Live Letter comes just days after Yoshida spoke at the 2024 Korea FanFest in Seoul. While most of his keynote was spent talking about the Korean launch of Dawntrail, Yoshida also shared some never-before-seen screenshots of what Final Fantasy 14 players can expect in future content updates. Yoshida mentioned the challenges that await players in the Echoes of Vana’diel alliance raid, shared concept art from the Cosmic Exploration feature, and stated that the Shades’ Triangle adventuring foray was inspired by Final Fantasy 5. With the Echoes of Vana’diel raid starting in Patch 7.1, only time will tell when Cosmic Exploration and Shades’ Triangle will follow. The 84th Live Letter will also go over Job balance changes and other miscellaneous pieces of information for players to be aware of, including when the servers will go down for patch maintenance. Along with the traditional update trailer made with in-game footage, Patch 7.1’s release date will finally be confirmed. In-game footage of Patch 7.1’s main features will be previewed during the Live Letter. The Live Letter will also reveal the launch date of Patch 7.1, and go over Job balance changes. Based on past Live Letter to Patch timings, November 12 is the most likely date for Patch 7.1 to launch. When Patch 6.5’s release date was confirmed as October 3, 2023, the respective Live Letter was broadcast on September 24, nine days prior. When looking at past updates, it’s standard practice for major updates to go live between nine and 11 days following Part 2 of a Live Letter. Although November 1 and 12 are just 11 days apart, the gap between Live Letter and potential patch days lines up with the mid-November window Yoshida stated during the previous episode. Because of this, many believe that November 12 is the most likely day Final Fantasy 14 Patch 7.1 will be released.
